2nd Reveal for the 6th Bead Soup Blog Party!
08/11/2012
Just as a refresher, my amazing partner is Barb Fernald, and here's the awesome bead soup she sent me to play with. My initial goal was to use ALL of the things she sent. I didn't quite get around to it, but I did come up with several solid designs that I enjoy very much. I still have a mess of ideas for the leftovers, so be watching for a second helping of soup in the days to come. ;)
But without further rambling from me, here's the fun stuff I created:
My design work has differed vastly from my first and second BSBP entries that focused on multi-stranded, weighty madness. These creations were a bit more true to my normal style, but I pushed myself on the wire wrapping to do something that was still challenging. I also didn't make any bracelets this time around like in the 5th BSBP. Definitely going to have to consider making some with my leftovers. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Much love,
P.S. Don't forget to stop by and check out all the other fantastic participants in the 2nd Reveal of the 6th Bead Soup Blog Party! ♥
But without further rambling from me, here's the fun stuff I created:
Fancy PMC pendant and matching clasp from Barb. The blue beads and metal hoops are also from her. |
Detail shot to show off some of my messy wire wrapping. Twisted jump rings aside, I made every link by hand. |
Detail shot of the clasp by Barb. Totally in love with the clasp and pendant. They balance perfectly in weight. |
Matching earrings. The bottom focals were made by Barb. The triangles she sent, and I wrapped. |
Vintage lucite pendant. I glued in a Swarovski crystal and paired it with sea glass and the cute peanut beads Barb sent. |
Detail of the lucite focal. I had been wanting to play with some lucite, too! |
Very simple design, but I wanted to show off Barb's super cute little bird. I loooooove this necklace. |
Detail shot of the little bird. I love this little birdie so much! |
Asymmetrical earrings to match. The blue stone is lapis lazuli. |
Close up of the pendant. |
And last but not least, another pair of earrings to match. |
